The challenge

Kaltura, the leading provider of open source video management and delivery solutions is the fastest growing platform for video and media management and delivery solutions. Anna Nativ, the VP of Professional Services, manages the team responsible for the implementation of Kaltura’s solutions once the sales process is complete. Nativ’s team uses Clarizen cloud based project management to run these implementation processes, projects that typically can take anywhere from one week to a year and a half.

When Anna joined the company a year and a half ago, she realized that there was a strong need within the company for a single, centralized environment for all work to be managed and related data to be placed, so that reports can easily be created and progress effortlessly shared. Furthermore, Anna sought an online solution that allowed her team members to work remotely when necessary and still be able to access their data, as well as that of others.

To meet these demands, the team began the process of testing out different tools. Anna explained that they were able to quickly eliminate several options as they were far too complex to learn and use, and others were far too expensive, and did not offer the team the ability to work remotely. Ultimately, the evaluating team chose Clarizen for three main reasons. First, they found the application very user friendly – easy to learn and yet full of features. Furthermore, the fact that Clarizen is a cloud-based solution meant that their work could be accessible from anywhere and was far less expensive than self-hosted solutions. Finally, the fact that Clarizen offers a free trial to anyone evaluating the tool was a huge factor in their decision. As Anna further explains, “With the trial, we were able to easily get started with Clarizen – that was very convenient for us. When it came time to make the purchase, we knew exactly what we were buying and how it would affect our work processes.”

Kaltura is in the process of onboarding additional team members to work with the Clarizen cloud based project management system. The team is adding in business rules to create a flow for issue management so that the R&D team can be incorporated into Clarizen and start taking advantage of its benefits as well. Overall, Kaltura is satisfied with Clarizen. As Anna adds, “We are very pleased with the level of support offered: both the sales process prior to purchase and the support structure that followed have been exceptional.”
