San Mateo, CALIF. – November 2, 2009 – Clarizen, a leading provider of online work management software, was named by IDC, a leading IT market research and advisory firm, as one of the innovative applications companies with annual revenues of less than $100 million to watch. Clarizen’s online work management solution, designed to increase team collaboration and project execution success, was chosen along with application companies, such as Intacct, IGLOO Inc. and Telligent, by IDC analysts and research executives.

Clarizen was acknowledged for exemplifying one or more of three key application trends cited in January 2009 as part of IDC’s applications predictions, including:

  • Acceleration of software-as-a-service (SaaS), business process outsourcing (BPO) and open source over traditional on-premise software
  • New business models for software use by service providers (software-within-a-service)
  • Web 2.0-like functionality that moves into the enterprise (e2.0)

“IDC has projected 2009 as a year of accelerated adoption of new business models for applications, including software as a service and open source, as well as Web 2.0 capabilities and functionality,” says Michael Fauscette, group vice president, Software Business Solutions, IDC. “The young companies in this report are at the forefront of these emerging trends that will shape the future direction of software and add significant value to businesses.

The IDC report states:

“Clarizen was built from the user up, instead of the manager down, and puts tools in the hands of those who need them to do their jobs. Tracking tasks interdependencies and status is simple, and the users can update status with related notes and comments through the email integration or directly through the Clarizen software. Clarizen combines work management and team collaboration with real-time business execution in a single cloud-based application.” (IDC, Innovative Application Software Companies Under $100 Million to Watch, Doc #220505, October 2009)

Clarizen’s simple and user-intuitive platform helps employees gain full insight into their workload, facilitating team collaboration and project execution while ensuring that all tasks are aligned with overall business objectives. By delivering real-time visibility to teams, Clarizen ensures the right decisions are made on time, connecting the project planning stage with project execution.

“As the industry shifts dramatically toward cloud application adoption, Clarizen is leading the shift by providing comprehensive functionality and customer-centric service,” said Avinoam Nowogrodski, co-founder and CEO of Clarizen. “This recognition by IDC, as well as recent customer acquisitions and expansions, is a direct reflection of our ongoing commitment to deliver sleek and easy-to-use online work management functionality.”
