The Role

This is an Outbound Sales Development Representative (SDR) role working directly with the Sales Team. This role prepares experienced sales candidates for an exciting and rewarding software sales career in a highly competitive and complex cloud Project Management sale.  This role will give you hands-on experience developing and building your sales skills while building your product knowledge and contributing to the company’s success.  The skills acquired in the SDR role are critical for your success as you transition into a quota carrying role.   The SDRs are tasked with researching, developing and qualifying revenue opportunities within their assigned territory. SDR’s work closely with their Account Executives in order to target and qualify prospects.

The primary purpose of the Outbound Sales Development Representative is to properly hunt and qualify leads and ‘kickstart’ the sales cycle:

  • Work directly with experienced Sales Executives on developing leads into deals
  • Work with dozens of new prospects daily on assessing their business needs for a project management solution and conveying Clarizen’s value proposition
  • Deliver online demos to prospects

Job responsibilities

  • Research and build “cold accounts” (i.e.: adding contacts, sending emails, cold calling)
  • Conduct high level conversations with Senior Executives in a greenfield territory of accounts
  • Create and prioritize strategic target account lists within a defined territory
  • Generate new business opportunities to fuel the Sales Pipeline
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of products and technologies, competitors, industry trends
  • Manage/overcome prospect objections
  • Evangelize Clarizen

 

Your experience

  • Experience in cold calling, sales or outbound Marketing
  • Proven ability to sell over the phone
  • Experience selling software or other technical services
  • Experience with high volume calling
  • Advantage: experience with Salesforce.com CRM

Skills & qualifications

  • Relevant sales or marketing experience
  • Ambitious, self-starter, with the ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Capable and willing to function according to measurable objectives
  • Ability to listen well, communicate and qualify effectively, over the telephone to all levels
  • Excellent English written, verbal essential; German & French language skills an advantage
