Change Management

Dealing with change requests correctly and efficiently is a fundamental part of keeping in-line with changing expectations, deadlines and project scope. Having the appropriate project management tools to do that seamlessly can be the difference between project success and failure.

Clarizen’s Change Management allows anyone within your Clarizen organization, be it internal or external resources, to submit change requests directly into the system including all the relevant details associated with that change request such as description, priority, time frame and request source.

In addition, all data associated with that change request can be appended to the item including email discussions, notes or attachments. Having all the information about a change request in one place ensures that all team members are informed and up-to-date and can make real time decisions about priorities, resources and timelines.

When a change request is submitted to Clarizen, all Clarizen users who have requested email notification on submitted items, will receive an email notification of the new item including all of the details associated with the item.

Once a change request has been submitted, reviewed and accepted as part of the general project plan, it can then be linked to an existing work items or a new work item can be created. With the change request now essentially integrated into the project plan, you have the ability to assign and track resources, budget and timelines as you would any other project item.

Dependencies can be created between the change request items and other work items within the project in order to view the impact of the change request on the entire project plan.

Change Request Queue

Another method of managing change requests is to submit change requests to a specific project that you can call "Change Request Queue". With all of the change requests and their details in one place, you can create reports or filters to understand what tasks you have in line and then move them over to your General Project Plan as the priority or timeline allows.
