Best Practices - Marketing Campaign

About the Marketing Campaign Template

When an organization decides to market a new service\product, several marketing activities are run in parallel, including the identification of the business goals by assessing the opportunity, go-to-market strategies, margins, channels, targeted verticals, etc.

Coinciding with marketing research, related campaigns are identified, developed and launched to achieve the defined objectives.

Frequently, such projects are divided into phases and milestones, with the respective activities to be carried out in each phase.

Using this Clarizen template will allow you to manage your marketing campaigns from the initial opportunity investigation phase to the final campaign effectiveness measurement phase.

Using the Clarizen roadmap, you are able to clearly view the phases and their respective activities.

Marketing campaign projects involve endless documentation. Using Clarizen, you are able to attach the related campaign research material and collateral directly in the right context of your project.

In addition, all project communications taking place during the project can be captured in context and logged in the project.

Note:
The marketing campaign template includes typical milestones and tasks from preliminary analysis phase to post-execution effectiveness analysis closure. The schedule of the project, build by the dependencies and durations set within represent an industry standard, however can be changed to fit your exact business environment

Using Clarizen Marketing Campaign Template

Define Project Management Team

Decide who will be the managers that will work with you on executing the project and set them up accordingly in your project. These managers can help you with conducting further planning and with actual performance & monitoring of the work.

For example:

  • Campaign creative development - This is typically outsourced. You can assign a service provider who will be responsible for carrying out and reporting progress on their work.
  • Executive reviewers - Those who will observe and review project progress. Should be set as Reviewers at the main project level (should you prefer to have external users review a specific work item within the project, assign them as reviewers only on that specific work item)

Define Resources

Define the resources to carry out the activities. You can work with your project management team to define appropriate resources from their teams, if required.

Update Scope & Upload content

Update the scope of work and the related work items to match specific project needs, by updating the work plan accordingly.
Content of documents, notes or discussions can be created and uploaded as well.

Update Schedule & Dependencies

Update the schedule and dependencies of required activities to match the specific project needs, by updating the corresponding work plan scheduling attributes or dependencies.

Other modifications

Link to other projects

Will your marketing campaign be related to another project? (e.g.: the project of the actual product\service development). You can link them by creating Shortcuts between both projects or simply include key milestones of the other project within your project as Shortcuts (e.g.: keep a Shortcut to “Product delivery” milestone). Thus, you will have all the required information within your own project, with no need to switch back and forth between projects.

Log project issues in-context

Should your project have any issues or risks, log that within the Issue Management system and link it to the impacted work items in your project.

Update cost information

Users who carry managerial roles in the project, and have the required financial permissions, can update financial data such as material costs or other expenses.
