Project Indicators

Project monitoring uses project indicators to engage project stakeholders in understanding the progress of a project while learning from the achievements and problems and then agreeing on how to improve both strategy and operations.

A project’s status may be represented by several indicators, each representing different aspect of the status.

  • Status Indicator - Status indicators represent the overall schedule status of a specific work item. This indicator is calculated automatically by default system based rules, or can be overridden with custom rules.
  • State Indicator - State indicators represent the appropriate life cycle status of a project work item.
  • Conflict Indicator - Conflict indicators represent a contradiction between two project entities.
  • Budget Indicator - Budget indicators represent the financial health of a work item. This indicator is automatically calculated using the CPI, or cost performance index, of a work item or can be overridden by manually setting the indicator.
