Clarizen has recently released two important Hot Fixes and we wanted to bring your attention to three important features as requested by Clarizen users:

  • BR Function to Get an Object Based on one of its Field's Values

This is a new business rule function called “Find Object” and is available through custom actions and an InterAct rule. This function allows you to find any object based on a given field and an exact matching term. Let’s say you have a unique ID for a project – a custom ID number that you are using for internal billing, for example. Using this function, you will be able to enter the number into the form and thus pull up the project corresponding to that number.

  • Business Rule Runtime Errors Generated Emails will Include the Triggering User

Before this function was implemented, whenever a user generated an error, an email would go out via the customization that would alert them that the particular rule had failed to run properly. With this latest improvement, however, instead of simply being notified that there is an error, the email will also relay who the user who triggered the error was.

  • Determine Manager when Creating a New Project from Template

There is now a new checkbox in the project creation wizard for whenever a user creates a new project based on a template. Now, instead of only being able to select the project manager defaulted in the template, you can also make yourself the project manager.
