As we know, internal social collaboration has always been valued and vital in marketing. Yes, we still need to reach beyond our organizational borders – either literally or virtually – to discover what our target markets think and feel, determine whether our brands have equity and are engaging, and so on. Those are critical pieces of the marketing jigsaw puzzle. But they aren’t the whole picture.

There’s plenty to like about being a Project Manager, and about project management in general. The work can be exciting, the technology can be cool, and it’s fun to treat a line manager’s staff so well, that they want to stay on the project forever and never return to their cubicle. Good times.

A long, long time ago, back when the only way to make a phone “mobile” was to throw an ordinary one across the room, project management was the domain of Project Managers with imposing Gantt charts, and project schedules that always seemed to look like blueprints for building something impossibly complicated.
