Avinoam Nowogrodski

Avinoam Nowogrodski

Founder

Avinoam Nowogrodski brings over 20 years of experience in sales, engineering and business management to Clarizen's board. He brings insight and expertise gained in those positions to Clarizen's vision of bringing collaborative project management to every business.

Prior to establishing Clarizen, Avinoam co-founded SmarTeam Corporation, a leading provider of collaborative product life cycle management (PLM) solutions. As CEO from 1995 – 2005, Avinoam's leadership molded SmarTeam into a leading enterprise PLM solution which was sold and supported by IBM. In 1999 SmarTeam was acquired by Dassault Systemes (DS) and Avinoam served on the DS General Executive Management team for 6 years. At his departure from the company, SmarTeam had 3,500 customers across diverse industries and over 100,000 users worldwide. Avinoam holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tel Aviv University, Israel.

Michael Eisenberg

Michael Eisenberg has been a key figure in Internet and software investing in Israel since 1995, playing a central role in the development of many of Israel's leading companies and startups. Prior to joining Benchmark, Michael was a partner at Israel Seed Partners for eight years. Michael joined Israel Seed in 1997 from Jerusalem Global, where he started and headed the firm's successful investment banking group and partnership with Montgomery Securities.

Investments: Conduit, Clarizen, Digital Fuel, Finjan, Funtactix, Gigya, Gurunet (Amex GRU), Picturevison (acquired: EK), Seeking Alpha, Shopping.com (Nasdaq: EBAY), Tradeum (acquired: VERT), Xacct (acquired: DOX), and Zlango. Other Affiliations: Michael serves on the board of Snunit, Israel's foremost nonprofit organization, specializing in integrating technology and the Internet into Israel's elementary schools. Avi Zeevi, a veteran high-tech executive, is a co-founder of the Viola Group, a leading innovative Israeli private equity investment group with $2B under management. Avi is a co-founder of Carmel Ventures, a top-tier Israeli venture capital firm, and a member of the Viola Group.

Avi has a proven track record as an entrepreneur, executive and investor with more than 30 years of experience. Avi serves as a General Partner at Carmel and his investment interests include Software, Financial Services and Digital Media.

Avi was the first VC investor in Actimize, where he served as an active Chairman from 2001 and until it was sold to NICE Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: NICE), in August 2007, for $280 million. Avi's investments include Oversi (acquired by Allot), Payoneer, OpTier, YCD, Clarizen, SundaySky, Personetics, TradAir and Abe's Market.

Avi is a leading figure in the Israeli VC community and he serves as the Chairman of the VC Committee at the Israel Advanced Technologies Industries Association. Avi is a lecturer at the Kellogg Recanati International Executive MBA Program where he teaches the "VC –What's it all about" course.

Avi served as CEO of MINT Technologies, a provider of intelligent application integration solutions for financial institutions. Following MINT, Mr. Zeevi was the CFO of Oshap and played a key role in the sale of Oshap to SunGard for $220M. Mr. Zeevi also served as an active director of successful Israeli software companies, including Tecnomatix, MINT and Decalog.

Avi is involved in several educational not-for-profit organizations.

Hillel Moerman

Co-Head, Private Capital Investing Group, Goldman Sachs

Hillel Moerman co-heads the Goldman Sachs Private Capital Investing Group. The Private Capital Investing group is the firm’s investment platform dedicated to providing preferred equity and mezzanine capital to growth and middle market companies.

Previously, Hillel was the CFO of Icahn Enterprises, L.P. (NYSE-IEP) and a senior member of the team responsible for operational oversight of the companies in which Carl Icahn had a controlling interest. Earlier in his career, Hillel was a senior manager with Ernst & Young, LLP, performing financial and business due diligence for private equity firms, in the Transaction Advisory Group. Hillel began his career in public accounting with Grant Thornton LLP and worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission in its corporation finance group. Hillel is a CPA and holds a bachelors degree from Ner Israel College and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

With 16 years experience building successful companies and guiding them through to profitable outcomes, Dan Avida brings a strong operating background to Opus Capital. Most recently, Dan was President and CEO of Decru Inc., a pioneering storage security company that Dan co-founded in 2001. Decru was acquired for $272.5M by Network Appliance (NASDAQ: NTAP) in 2005.

In 1989, Dan was a founding member of Electronics for Imaging (NASDAQ: EFII), which received its only round of venture funding from Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners, in 1992. Initially, Dan led the Fiery project—the cornerstone of EFI's success. He went on to be promoted several times, ultimately to Chairman and CEO. Under Dan's leadership, EFI experienced five years of dramatic, consecutive growth, placing the company on Business Week, Fortune and Forbes lists of fastest growing companies, and on the Nasdaq 100 index. Dan served as an officer in the Israel Defense Force during the years 1984-1989. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Paul Albright

Paul Albright

Chief Executive Officer, Captora

As CEO and co-founder of Captora, Paul brings unique experiences from leading product, marketing and sales in some of Silicon Valley’s most innovative, market-creating, private and public software companies. Most recently Paul was Chief Revenue Officer at Marketo (NASDAQ: MKTO) where he drove the overall revenue strategy across sales and marketing that delivered global revenue growth over 100% year-over-year, from $14m to $58m. In a similar position at SuccessFactors, he grew revenues to more than $200m and over 80% year-over-year growth. Previously, Paul led worldwide marketing at NetApp (NASDAQ:  NTAP) and at Informatica (NASDAQ: INFA), which he joined pre-revenue through their successful IPO. He also served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Greylock.

Paul currently serves on the Board of Directors of Clarizen, and is a frequent speaker and blogger, helping to demystify modern marketing strategies that accelerate growth in high-performing companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from James Madison University.
