Mr. Avinoam Nowogrodski,
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Avinoam brings over 20 years of experience in sales, engineering and business management positions to Clarizen. Avinoam co-founded Clarizen with the vision to simplify the way companies manage their projects. Prior to establishing the company, Avinoam co-founded and served for 10 years as the Chief Executive Officer of SmarTeam Corporation, a leading provider of collaborative product life cycle management solutions.
As CEO from 1995 – 2005, Avinoam's leadership molded the company through many phases, from its early entry into the market via an indirect channel through the creation of an enterprise product lifecycle management solution portfolio sold and supported by IBM. In 1999 SmarTeam was acquired by Dassault Systemes (DS) and Avinoam served on the DS General Executive Management team for 6 years. At his departure from the company, SmarTeam had 3,500 customers across diverse industries and over 100,000 users worldwide.
Mr. Nowogrodski holds a BSC in Electronics Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
Mr. Michael Eisenberg,
Partner, Benchmark Capital
Michael Eisenberg has been a key figure in Internet and software investing in Israel since 1995, playing a central role in the development of many of Israel’s leading companies and startups.
Prior to joining Benchmark, Michael was a partner at Israel Seed Partners for eight years. Michael joined Israel Seed in 1997 from Jerusalem Global, where he started and headed the firm’s successful investment banking group and partnership with Montgomery Securities.
Investments: Conduit, Clarizen, Digital Fuel, Finjan, Funtactix, Gigya, Gurunet (Amex GRU), Picturevison (acquired: EK), Seeking Alpha, Shopping.com (Nasdaq: EBAY), Tradeum (acquired: VERT), Xacct (acquired: DOX), and Zlango.
Other Affiliations: Michael serves on the board of Snunit, Israel’s foremost nonprofit organization, specializing in integrating technology and the Internet into Israel’s elementary schools. Michael also lectures frequently on the topics of venture capital and entrepreneurship at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Education: Michael holds a BA in Political Science from Yeshiva University in New York.
Mr. Avi Zeevi,
General Partner, Founder, Carmel Ventures
Avi Zeevi is a veteran high-tech executive in Israel, having led various software companies over the past 25 years. From 1984 to 1994, Avi served as CEO and President of MINT Software Technologies, a provider of intelligent application integration solutions for financial institutions. From 1994 to 1999, Avi was the CFO of Oshap. Avi also served as an active director of Tecnomatix, MINT and Decalog. Avi successfully helped build MINT and Decalog into successful global companies actively contributing to their market penetration, management team build up and the establishment of strategic partnerships. Avi played a key role in the sale of Oshap to SunGard. Avi served as a director of Tecnomatix until it was sold to UGS in 2005.
In the year 2000, Avi Co-Founded Carmel Ventures.
Avi has served as an active Chairman of Actimize Ltd. from 2001 and until it was sold to NICE Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: NICE), in August 2007, for $280 million.
Avi also serves as Chairman of Octavian, and serves on the Board of Directors of Impress Software Solutions, OpTier, Verix, Oversi, Clarizen and Delver.
Avi is a leading figure in the Israeli VC community and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Israel Venture Association. Avi is a faculty member at the Kellogg Recanati Executive MBA Program where he teaches the “VC –What’s it all about” course. Avi is also the Co-Founder and member of the Board of TZEVA, an educational non-profit organization, which operates enrichment centers for underprivileged children.
